This is the sightseer's tour! Claire's Mountain Journey is the only tour which FOCUSES on North Carolina's spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway! This journey begins at The Cascades, where you will bask in the coolness of mist from this breathtaking Parkway waterfall. After our hike, our appetites will be satisfied with a specially prepared lunch from Sweet & Savory Bakery & Deli while we’re continuing to enjoy nature at their picnic area. From there, we'll take a short one-mile hike to Thompkins Knob to see the historic Cool Springs Baptist Church, and the Jesse Brown cabin. Leaving Thompkins Knob behind us, we'll enjoy a beautiful ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway, where we will make stops at several overlooks to take pictures & enjoy the amazing views. Our next stop is the historic Brinegar cabin, home of Martin & Caroline Brinegar. Next, we’ll savor a little afternoon wine tasting from nearby Thistle Meadow Winery where we'll all receive our very own souvenir glasses. Our dinner will be at the River House Inn Restaurant, which promises wonderful cuisine and a scenic view of the historic New River.
ALL admission prices, meals, tips, souvenir glasses, and non-alcoholic beverages (except as indicated) are included in your one-day ticket price.
