Spending Thanksgiving Day with our family. After dinner we all go to our small town for the Christmas celebration of turning on the lights. The stores are open that night so you can shop for Christmas. Music is playing. It is one of our happiest times of the season.

We would put up the nativity and leave baby Jesus away. Before bed on Christmas Eve one of my children would set baby Jesus in the manger. Each year the kids rotated who would have that honor.

We would bake a cake for Christmas day and sing Happy Birthday, Jesus to celebrate his birth.

The family gathers at our house on Christmas Eve for a big lasagna dinner. But we also celebrate our English heritage by having the Christmas poppers. Everyone wears their tissue crown and we play with the toys that fly out of them. Then we read the jokes that come with them. Lots of fun!
